  1.  Kayak Tours – Kayak on the Hudson River with a tour guide from Storm King Adventure Tours located on Cornwall on Hudson.   2. Sterling Hill Mine – Go 1,300 feet underground to tour the once active mine! It’s 56 degrees inside all year, which makes for a great summer activity. Daily tours begin at 1:00pm. Find more info here.
  3. Bear Mountain State Park– The park features a large play field, shaded picnic groves, lake and river fishing access, a swimming pool, Trailside Museums and Zoo, hiking, biking and more!! Find more info here:
  4. Challenger Learning Center-Take a voyage to Mars, the Moon or a rendezvous with a Comet! The challenger learning center provides simulated space missions as well as a planetarium.  Reservations are highly recommended. Find more info here.                       
  5.  Rail Explorers – Pedal down the railroad and explore the Adirondacks like never before!! Perfect for the whole family. Find more info here.                                
  6. The Intrepid – It’s a sea, air & space museum located on an aircraft carrier.  Find more info here.
  7. Ausable Chasm – So…. this one may be an overnighter, but it is worth it! It is known as the Grand Canyon of the Adirondacks and offers tubing, rock climbing, biking and much more.   8. Roosevelt Ride –  Spend a day visiting the Roosevelt-Vanderbilt National Historic Sites and FDR’s Presidential Library and Museum. Board the Roosevelt Ride Shuttle Bus and get ready for a family friendly guided tour. Find more info here.

  12. Mo Math, National Museum of Mathematics– It’s not as boring as it sounds. It’s actually quite the opposite as it boast many hands on innovative exhibits. The museum is perfect for the whole family and children as young as 5. Find more info here.
